Acting as a performance booster, Quaero allowed the Group Jouve to develop a worldwide competitive industrial platform of digitalization and e-book conversion.
Within this project, Jouve developed a platform of digitalization and industrial e-book conversion, and an innovating in terms of digital book use thanks to a new method of e-book and audio-book synchronization.

“Industrial platform of digitalization and of e-book conversion”

The e-book has found its voice
The e-book and audio-book synchronization method developed in partnership with LIMSI-CNRS ( speech recognition) and Vecsys (automatic word/text alignment to synchronize audio sources  with the e-book) offers additional reading comfort.

The research work Jouve is leading within Quaero prefigures new uses: to be able to continue reading an e-book in your car by listening to a famous actor who continues to read from the exact word where the reader stopped, or making the learning of a new foreign language easier by listening to your teacher’s familiar voice... Indeed, the industrial technology allows switching from reading to listening by a simple click of the reader-listener.

In the field of digital technology and new broadcasting media, Jouve is the leader of e-book conversion in Europe and in the United States. Jouve also announced on May 3rd 2010 its acquisition of the Safig group, thus becoming number one in patrimonial digitalization in France and the main provider of the BnF (French National Library), both in terms of digitalization and data conversion.
