MIREX 2009 – Congratulations to IRCAM and Telecom ParisTech! 

Two partners of Quaero, the IRCAM and Telecom ParisTech are happy to announce their excellent results at the international competition MIREX 2009 (Music Information Retrieval eXchange Evaluation).

Research that leaded to these results was carried out mainly within the framework of the Quaero project.

MIREX 2009 – Congratulations to IRCAM and Telecom ParisTech!

Two partners of Quaero, the IRCAM and Telecom ParisTech are happy to announce their excellent results at the international competition MIREX 2009 (Music Information Retrieval eXchange Evaluation).

The researchers of the Sound Analyze and Synthesis team of the IRCAM were ranked among best in several tasks on automatic analysis of audio signals.

  •     Audio Beat Tracking: Geoffroy Peeters
  •     Audio Onset Detection: Axel Röbel
  •     Multiple Fundamental Frequency Estimation & Tracking: Chunghsin Yeh and Axel Röbel
  •     Audio Genre Classification: Juan-Jose Burred and Geoffroy Peeters
  •     Audio Mood Classification: Juan-Jose Burred and Geoffroy Peeters

Telecom ParisTech obtained excellent results, particularly in two tasks:

  • Automatic Chord recognition: Laurent Oudre, Yves Grenier and Cédric Févotte
  • Main melody extraction: Jean-Louis Durrieu, Gaël Richard and Bertrand David

Research having allowed these results was carried out mainly within the framework of the Quaero project.
